Online retail giant Amazon has launched a new tablet computer Kindle Fire which costs $199, which is less than half the price of iPad from Apple. Kindle Fire has a 7 inch screen which is smaller than iPad's size (9 inch).

Kindle Fire has Wi-Fi connectivity only and is powered by google's Android software. It does not include a camera like other rivals. According to analysts Kindle Fire could pose a serious challenge to Apple's iPad. At $199 Kindle Fire significantly undercuts Apples iPad whose starting price is at $499. It has pre-installed Amazon's shopping App. So it competes the iPad on price, content and commerce.
