What are the differences between Broadband and Dial Up Internet connections?



Now a days Internet has become an essential part of our life. Internet has redefined the scope of communication. Internet access can be achieved by any one of the technologies such as dial-up, Wi-fi, coaxial fiber, broadband, T-lines or satellite, any of these can be chosen according to the need.
Dial-up connection is the most common access provided by Internet Service Providers (ISP's), which is cheap and slow, enabling users to connect via a local server. Dial up connectivity is basically the access to the Internet via a integrated telephone lines. Where as the term broadband has different meanings in different contexts. In the world of data communication broadband means the data transferring through a fiber optic cable. This technology enables high information carrying capacity and faster internet access.

Differences between Dial up and Broadband connectivity?
The main difference of dial up and broadband is in speed of connectivity. Broadband access is quite opposite to that of dial up in the speed of access, information carrying capacity and data transfers. Mostly technically inclined people prefer broadband connections as the dial up connections are quite late and broadband connections has much more beneficial that dial up, in terms of costs, some features like video conferencing, online gaming could be difficult by using dial up connectivity because of its latency.
