Thomas Alva Edison was an american inventor, scientist and businessman who developed many devices that greatly influenced life around the world. He was born in Ohio, US. Edison is considered as the most profilic inventor in the history holding more that thousand US patents in his name and many more patents in the countries like UK, France and Germany. Edison started his career as a telegraph operator. He became a telegraph operator after he saved a three-year-old Jimmie from being stuck by a run away train. Jimmies father so thankful to Edison that he trained him as a telegraph operator. Edisons major invensions are
the phonograph, the motion picture camera, the long lasting electric bulb and many more. He is often credited with the creation of the first innovation research laboratory. In his honary in 1983, United States Congress designated February 11(Edison's birthday) as National Inventors Day.
